Virginia Commonwealth University: Program outline

  • What programs are included in the VCU/IIHEM Joint Academic Programs?

    One program is included:

    • Dual Master Program: Two courses are taught in the fall by IIHEM professors. The remaining eight courses take place on the VCU campus in Virginia. The capstone project (Projet de Fin d'Etudes) is supervised by IIHEM professors and is presented thereafter.


Who is eligible to apply to these programs?

Qualified IIHEM students enrolled in the BAC+5 program who are successfully completing their fourth year can apply to these programs.

What degrees do these programs lead to?

  • IIHEM five-year diploma in Marketing and VCU Master of Science in Business with a concentration in Global Marketing Management, or
  • IIHEM five-year diploma in Finance and VCU Master of Science in Business with a concentration in Finance.

Are these programs accredited?

Yes.

IIHEM diplomas are accredited and “reconnu équivalent” by the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education. and the VCU diplomas are accredited by the AACSB, considered to be the gold standard for the accreditation of university business programs.

How is the program delivered?

Two courses are taught in the fall by IIHEM professors. The remaining eight courses take place on the VCU campus in Virginia. The capstone project (Projet de Fin d'Etudes) is supervised by IIHEM professors and is presented thereafter.

Will I be able to transfer credits for some IIHEM courses in the program that I took before being admitted to the program?

Students may transfer 6 credits (2 courses) prior to admission to the program. Each course must be one of the two IIHEM courses taught in the program and the students must have received a grade of B or better.

Do I get the same VCU diploma as the one given to graduates from the VCU campus?

Yes.

Once I complete my degree, can I take part in the graduation ceremony at VCU?

Yes.

Can I do more of my program at VCU?

Yes. You can do this by a simple transfer. You will however pay the VCU tuition whenever you are on the VCU campus.

What is required to graduate?

To get both degrees you have to

  1. complete the ten courses in your program with a GPA of B or better,
  2. complete the capstone project (Projet de Fin d'Etudes),
  3. have a maximum of 2 C's and no grade below a C, and
  4. have a minimum grade of B in all the courses taught by IIHEM.
