School of Business Administration


The IIHEM School of Business Administration offers high-level degree programs in management, management information systems, finance and marketing. These programs prepare students for management careers in the private and public sectors, and for future graduate studies in management for those who so desire. By using English as its primary language of instruction, the School prepares students to play a primary and dynamic role in the development and diversification of Moroccos economic exchanges with the outside world.

Program Majors

The School of Business Administration offers the following undergraduate programs:


Applicants to the management science programs must have a scientific Baccalaureat degree. Applicants to the marketing and communication program must have a Baccalaureat degree that can be of any "option".

Admissions decisions are based on an applicants academic record, the applicant interview, the results on the Institute English and French admissions test and the results on the Institute mathematics admission test. Certain applicants may receive conditional admission to the academic program that requires them first to take and successfully complete remedial courses in English or mathematics.

Program Description

The academic program consists of a first cycle of two years of foundation courses followed by a second three-year specialization cycle that leads to the five-year diploma in Business Administration. There are two tracks in the business administration program, a "management science" track and a "marketing and communication" track.

The First Two-Year Cycle of studies consists of a common core of courses that constitute the foundation for the more advanced and specialized parts of the program. It covers the corpus of business knowledge that is considered essential to the education of future managers, regardless of their areas of concentration. The common core includes the following modules: Economics and Management Module, Communication and Language Module, Mathematics and Statistics Module, Computer Science and Information Systems Module.

The Second Three-Year Cycle of the academic program provides specialized and in-depth studies that lead to the five-year diploma in Business Administration in one of the three major areas of finance, marketing and management information systems. The degree programs have been carefully designed to provide an education that meets the needs of the employment market.

After successfully completing the second cycle, students are awarded the five-year diploma in Business Administration. This diploma involves a course of study that is similar to a Masters degree program in business administration in North America. It is heavily dependent on practical studies based on live business cases that are meant to hone a students ability to apply multi-disciplinary skills to real-world problems. The curriculum is capped with a Majors project carried out at a local firm that will test the students ability to collect and analyze business data in order to arrive at sound recommendations for business decisions.

The fundamental courses, regardless of the area of concentration, are diversified so as to provide the students with useful complementary skills in English, communication, information systems, marketing, finance, operations research, business law, personnel management, entrepreneurship and strategic management. The Institute believes these skills to be essential for executive managers and MBA candidates.

Professional Internship

During the summer of the third and fourth years, business students are required to do one or two-month professional internship sessions in local companies, multi-national companies or the public administration. Students submit reports on their internships which are evaluated and serve to prepare for future training sessions.
